- Installation of new storm, wastewater, electrical service connections, and surface improvements will affect portions of E 17th Ave, east of Agate St to Columbia St. E 17th Ave to Moss Ave, and portions of Columbia St and Columbia Alley during construction work.
- Detours for vehicular traffic will be set at Agate St, E 17th Ave, Columbia St, Moss St, and E 19th Ave as work progresses.
- Pedestrian access will also be impacted and detoured on all affected streets during construction.
- Bike lanes will be closed and merged with shared use in traffic lanes on Agate St to the west and Moss St to the east.
- Please be aware of large trucks and equipment in the area while construction continues.

Maxwell Rd & Prairie Rd Improvements

construction crews will be working at the corner of Maxwell & Prairie Rd. Additionally, they will be working to the east on Maxwell Rd up to the overpass bridge. Crews will be excavating and constructing new sidewalks to connect the River Rd neighborhoods to the Bethel neighborhoods. This new walk section will connect to the brand-new walk section on Hwy 99 at Prairie Rd.
East bound Maxwell Rd is closed at Prairie Rd. Traveling public is encouraged to use either Beltline to NW Expressway, Beltline to River Rd, or Chambers Rd to River Rd.
Crews are working in the road way so please respect the cones and signage for everyone’s safety.
When the project is completed there will be the new sidewalks and a new railroad crossing. This project is funded with Federal and state funding. The railroad has funded their own crossing upgrades.

Hilyard 36th to 38th Ave – Hilyard will be closed in this 2-1/2 block section to all traffic except Emergency Vehicles for the entire week. Vehicular users shall use West Amazon or Donald St for north/ south travel. Side streets off of Hilyard are open to traffic, including E 39th Ave/ Dillard is open from Hilyard. Temporary ramps will be made for the few homes in this stretch that only have access from Hilyard. All others shall use side streets to access to and from their homes. Wednesday and/or Thursday the road construction activities may seem quieter as the contractor allows the cement treated roadway base time to cure before placing the asphalt surfacing on top on Friday

18th At Hilyard St- Signal Light Replacement

This project will replace the span wire signal at 18th Avenue and Hilyard Street with a mast arm signalized system. The signal upgrade will include a new bicycle signal for westbound bikers on 18th Avenue as they approach the intersection with Hilyard Street and improvements to signal timing to reduce potential crashes.
Crossing distance for pedestrians at the intersection will also be reduced by installing curb extensions and new ADA compliant curb ramps.

Crow Rd, M.P. 1.38 to M.P. 8.13

Starting January 28, 2026, Lane County will be installing signs and guardrails on Crow Rd from M.P. 1.38 to M.P. 8.13. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers, Monday through Friday from 7am to 7pm. Please obey the temporary traffic control signs, use caution and slow down through work zones to improve safety and efficiency. Construction work is expected to be completed by June 30, 2026.
