US101B, 2 miles West of Astoria MP 5; Closure with Detour
The Lewis and Clark River Bridge will be closed starting December 1, 2014; a detour will be in place. Use an alternate route., The Lewis & Clark River Bridge is scheduled to be closed to facilitate construction activities starting December 1, 2014. This closure is anticipated to last until August 1, 2015. A detour route will be designated with signing during the length of the closure. The project is scheduled to be completed in November 2017.

ORE99W, Intersection with Pacific Highway I-5 MP -6 - -5; Closure with Detour
The southbound lanes of OR 99W (North Denver Avenue) will be closed until July 16, 2015 between North Victory Boulevard and North Argyle Street., Project Description: This project is rehabilitating and repaving the OR 99W (North Denver Avenue) bridge from North Victory Boulevard to North Argyle Street. The North Schmeer Road/Denver Avenue intersection and southbound ramp from North Victory Boulevard to North Denver Avenue will be realigned. The work is expected to be complete in the fall of 2015. Traffic Impacts: OR 99W (North Denver Avenue) • The southbound lanes of OR 99W (North Denver Avenue) will be closed until July 16, 2015 between North Victory Boulevard and North Argyle Street. • There will also be daytime shoulder closures on northbound OR 99W (North Denver Avenue) and the northbound off-ramp to Victory Boulevard. Columbia Slough Trail (shared-use path) • The Columbia Slough Trail will be closed between Whitaker Road just west of North Denver Avenue for the 90 day closure. Detour signs are posted for bikes and pedestrians.

Comments: Expect nighttime lane closures on Lower Boones Ferry Road in both directions Monday to Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Project Description: Construction is underway on a seismic retrofit project for five bridges along the Interstate 5 corridor between Portland’s South Waterfront district and the Tualatin River. Retrofitting the state’s older bridges to meet modern seismic specifications will help ensure I-5 would not be immobilized in the event Oregon experiences a powerful earthquake. Traffic Impacts: Motorists should exercise caution and slow down as they approach Marine Drive from North Frontage Road (heading west). Westbound I-84 traffic will be diverted from the temporary alignment on Wednesday, May 27 to the North Frontage Road before returning to I-84 at the far side of the interchange. This nighttime detour will be in place from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Interstate 5 – Southwest Capitol Highway to North Lombard Street – Paving and Signs Project Description: The project will take place on Interstate 5 from Southwest Capitol Highway to North Lombard Street and will include: • Sign Replacement: Work is under way to replace many of the green highway signs on I-5 from Southwest Corbett Avenue to North Lombard Street and on both decks of the Fremont Bridge (I-405) will be replaced. Existing signs will be updated to meet federal standards; new signs will feature more reflective materials and a less cluttered design, making them easier to read. • Paving: Starting this spring/summer, about seven miles of I-5 between Southwest Capitol Highway and the Marquam Bridge will be repaved. The pavement, last replaced in 2004, is deteriorating and needs to be repaired. Transitions to on- and off-ramps will also be repaved and improvements will be made to several bridges. • Nighttime closure of the Greeley Avenue on-ramp to I-5 southbound and right travel lane from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for site work. • Nighttime single lane closure of the I-84 westbound to I-5 southbound on-ramp and right travel lane from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for site work. • Nighttime single lane closures on I-5 northbound (between mileposts 300.3 and 305.12, approximately the west end of the Marquam Bridge to North Lombard) Tuesday night through Saturday morning, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for new sign site preparation. • Nighttime single right lane closures on I-5 southbound (between mileposts 305.44 and 300.69, approximately North Lombard Street to the east end of the Marquam Bridge) Tuesday night through Friday morning, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for new sign site preparation. • Daytime shoulder closures on I-5 in both directions (between the Marquam Bridge and North Lombard Street, as well as the project area) for temporary sign/detour installation. • For two weeks, starting Wednesday, May 27, expect nighttime ramp and single lane closures on I-5 in both directions (between I-84 and North Lombard), 7 days a week from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for pavement striping.

Comments: Motorist should use caution as they approach Marine Drive from North Frontage. The right turn to Marine Drive has been shifted. Project Description: The project will widen Marine Drive between the two frontage roads to allow for two-way traffic. It will also replace the existing Interstate 84 overpass bridges at Marine Drive with a new bridge. The Marine Drive intersections at the Frontage Roads will also be improved. Traffic Impacts: Motorists should exercise caution and slow down as they approach Marine Drive from North Frontage Road (heading west). The right turn to Marine Drive has been shifted from the old ramp to a hard right at the signalized intersection. Drivers should yield to pedestrians at the new crosswalk. • Please exercise caution as large construction equipment may be operating in the right hand shoulder of this area, and entering traffic from the left side at the intersection. • Nighttime lane closures may occur on freeways and frontage roads as the contractor hauls material around the site, and temporary pavement markings are re-installed.

The North Schmeer Road/Denver Avenue intersection and southbound ramp from North Victory Boulevard to North Denver Avenue will be realigned. The work is expected to be complete in the fall of 2015. Comments: Work Monday through Friday from sunrise to sunset with 24-hour flagging US 26 closes 5:30-6:30 p.m. May 19 and 21 for rock blasting. Traffic Impacts: K&E Excavating will work Tuesday through Friday from sunrise to sunset. This week's work will include 24-hour flagging on the west end of the project and blasting on Tuesday, May 26 and Thursday, May 28 and intermittent flagging throughout the three-mile project area. Hauling will also continue along Lolo Pass Road and Trillium Lake Road. Details include: U.S. 26 • 24-hour flagging will occur on the west end of the project at Map Curve from 5 a.m. Tuesday to 10 a.m. Friday. Delays associated with the flagging should be minimal; however, it could last up to 20-minutes. Starting at 10 a.m. Friday and until 5 a.m. Tuesday, U.S. 26 will have one lane open in each direction. The 24-hour flagging will allow the contractor to place a shipping container along the north side of U.S. 26 between the work on the steep slopes and traffic on the highway to prevent rocks from rolling into U.S. 26. • Travelers should expect up to one hour closure of U.S. 26 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 26 and Thursday, May 28 for rock blasting. This is subject to change due to site conditions and work progress. • Tuesday through Friday during daylight hours, travelers will encounter traffic stops controlled by flaggers, with lane and shoulder closures from sunrise to sunset throughout the three-mile project area. • With the exception of 24-hour flagging, one lane will remain open in each direction for a nearly three-mile stretch of U.S. 26 from east of Kiwanis Camp Road to east of the Mirror Lake Curves. This lane closure will remain in place around-the-clock until October 31. Comments: The Lewis and Clark River Bridge will be closed starting December 1, 2014; a detour will be in place. Use an alternate route. The Lewis & Clark River Bridge is scheduled to be closed to facilitate construction activities starting December 1, 2014. This closure is anticipated to last until August 1, 2015. A detour route will be designated with signing during the length of the closure. The project is scheduled to be completed in November 2017.
