Project Summary: The I-5 Kuebler Interchange Project will address the increasing congestion at the interchange by modifying the existing southbound off ramp, which will decrease the conflicts at Kuebler that have caused back-ups on I-5 southbound. The new ramp will meet modern standards and contain excess capacity. The project will also add a westbound to southbound I-5 loop on ramp and modify the eastbound to southbound I-5 on ramp.

Comments: Night lane closure on Lower Boones Ferry Road in both directions Monday-Thursday 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Project Description: Construction is underway on a seismic retrofit project for five bridges along the Interstate 5 corridor between Portland’s South Waterfront district and the Tualatin River. Retrofitting the state’s older bridges to meet modern seismic specifications will help ensure I-5 would not be immobilized in the event Oregon experiences a powerful earthquake. Traffic Impacts: Expect periodic nighttime lane closures on the I-5 northbound truck lane at Southwest Barbur Boulevard from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., as well as the I-5 southbound left lane (the ramp to Southwest Barbur Boulevard will remain open). There will also be periodic traffic stops on the northbound on-ramp from Southwest Barbur Boulevard to I-5. Drivers should be aware of construction signage and lane changes since this project will include periodic nighttime lane closures on I-5 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday. Traffic Impacts: No lane closures between Friday, July 3 and Sunday, July 5. Expect nighttime lane closures on Lower Boones Ferry Road in both directions Monday to Friday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Interstate 5 – Southwest Capitol Highway to North Lombard Street – Paving and Signs Project Description: The project will take place on Interstate 5 from Southwest Capitol Highway to North Lombard Street and will include: • Sign Replacement: Work is under way to begin replacing many of the green highway signs on I-5 from Southwest Corbett Avenue to North Lombard Street and on both decks of the Fremont Bridge (I-405) will be replaced. Existing signs will be updated to meet federal standards; new signs will feature more reflective materials and a less cluttered design, making them easier to read. • Paving: Starting this spring/summer*, about seven miles of I-5 between Southwest Capitol Highway and the Marquam Bridge will be repaved. The pavement, last replaced in 2004, is deteriorating and needs to be repaired. Transitions to on- and off-ramps will also be repaved and improvements will be made to several bridges. * Construction is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2015, but work is weather dependent and dates are subject to change. Traffic Impacts: Expect nighttime single and double lane, shoulder and ramp closures for sign replacement, structure installation and paving. ODOT is partnering with law enforcement for extra presence in the highway construction zone. • NORTHBOUND CLOSURE of I-5 between the Marquam Bridge and I-84 on Friday night, August 7. I-5 travelers will be detoured via I-405. Eastbound I-84 travelers will take I-5 southbound to I-84 eastbound. On-ramp closures to I-5 will begin at 9 p.m. and the mainline will be closed at 10 p.m. • Nighttime I-5 northbound shoulder and double lane closures (both left lanes and right lanes, but not at the same time) at milepoint 300.69 for new structure installation. This is located just south of exit 300 to I-84 and OMSI; exit 300 to I-84 will remain open. • Nighttime I-5 southbound and northbound shoulder and double lane closures (between mileposts 298 and 306, from Southwest Corbett Avenue to North Lombard Avenue) from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for structure installation and sign replacement. • Nighttime I-5 northbound, double lane closures (between Southwest Capitol Highway and the Marquam Bridge) from Monday, August 5 to Saturday, August 10 for paving, starting at 8 p.m. and reopening by 5:30 a.m. (8 a.m. on Saturday morning). Project Description: The project will widen Marine Drive between the two frontage roads to allow for two-way traffic. It will also replace the existing Interstate 84 overpass bridges at Marine Drive with a new bridge. The Marine Drive intersections at the Frontage Roads will also be improved. Traffic Impacts: Motorists should exercise caution in the project workzone, as construction vehicles may be entering and exiting travel lanes. Travelers should expect periodic nighttime lane and ramp closures on I-84, as well as lane closures along the Frontage Roads and Marine Drive as the contractor performs paving and striping Monday through Friday. Motorists approaching the interchange on Marine Drive should expect shifted lanes and additional traffic control and signing. Please be cautious and obey all posted signs and devices.

Comments: I-84 reduced to one lane in each direction from Monday, August 3 at 5 a.m. to Thursday, August 6 at 8 p.m., expect up to 20 minute delays MP 50-55. Project Description: This project will replace 12-miles of center concrete barriers on I-84 from Cascade Locks (milepost 46) to Hood River (milepost 64) between July and November 2015, before paving in summer 2016. The project will result in a smoother ride, increased safety and extend the life of the highway. Traffic Impacts: Travelers should expect I-84 to be reduced to one lane in each direction (west and eastbound) as crews replace the center barrier from around milepost 50 to milepost 55 (east of Cascade Locks); travelers can expect up to 20 minute delays. The left lanes (fast lanes) will be closed starting on Monday, August 3 at 5 a.m. then reopening on Thursday, August 6 at 8 p.m. with a temporary barrier in place to protect work crews. Motorists should exercise caution in the project workzone, as construction vehicles may be entering and exiting travel lanes.

Crews will be completing pavement striping. TriMet service on Baseline Street will be intermittently affected during this reconstruction work. Temporary bus stop closures will be communicated on.www.TriMet.org and at the bus stops. • Businesses in the section of 1st Avenue being closed can be accessed from driveways on Baseline Street, Oak Street or 2nd Avenue. Project Description: Construction of safety improvements to prevent severe and fatal crashes on U.S. 26 from east of Kiwanis Camp Road to east of the Mirror Lake Curves and preserve the highway to Oregon Highway 35 is underway on Mt. Hood. Work on the nearly eight mile stretch of U.S. 26 includes: • Paving between Silent Rock and OR 35. • Cutting back the slope along a 600 foot section at Map Curve to provide a 27 foot wide ditch for rocks to land away from the road. • Cutting back the rock slope east of the runaway truck ramp to east of the Mirror Lake trailhead. • Highway widening to install a median barrier. • Constructing a retaining wall to reduce impacts to existing trails from highway widening work. • Extending the westbound passing lanes for a total of about 1,400 feet. Traffic Impacts: K&E Excavating will work Monday through Friday from sunrise to sunset. This week's work requires blasting on Monday and Thursday with flagging throughout the three-mile project area from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Hauling will also continue along Lolo Pass Road and Trillium Lake Road. Details include: U.S. 26 • Travelers should expect up to one hour closure of U.S. 26 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, August 3 and Thursday, August 6 for rock blasting. This is subject to change due to site conditions and work progress. • Monday through Thursday during daylight hours, travelers will encounter traffic stops controlled by flaggers, with lane and shoulder closures from sunrise to sunset throughout the three-mile project area. Travelers should plan for 20-minute delays any time the contractor is working. Periodic flagging could also occur on Friday. • One lane will remain open in each direction for a nearly three-mile stretch of U.S. 26 from east of Kiwanis Camp Road to east of the Mirror Lake Curves. This lane closure will remain in place around-the-clock until October 31. Traffic Impacts: K&E Excavating will work Monday through Friday from sunrise to sunset. This week's work requires blasting on Monday and Thursday with flagging throughout the three-mile project area from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Hauling will also continue along Lolo Pass Road and Trillium Lake Road. Details include: U.S. 26 • Travelers should expect up to one hour closure of U.S. 26 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, August 3 and Thursday, August 6 for rock blasting. This is subject to change due to site conditions and work progress. • Monday through Thursday during daylight hours, travelers will encounter traffic stops controlled by flaggers, with lane and shoulder closures from sunrise to sunset throughout the three-mile project area. Travelers should plan for 20-minute delays any time the contractor is working. The earth movement was measured at approximately one inch per year. For the past four years, however, the movement has increased to 6 to 7 inches per year. This project is designed to redirect and reduce the slide activity so that the impact to the bridge will be consistent and predictable, and therefore, more manageable.

Comments: Night lane closure on Lower Boones Ferry Road in both directions Monday-Thursday 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Project Description: Construction is underway on a seismic retrofit project for five bridges along the Interstate 5 corridor between Portland’s South Waterfront district and the Tualatin River. Retrofitting the state’s older bridges to meet modern seismic specifications will help ensure I-5 would not be immobilized in the event Oregon experiences a powerful earthquake. Traffic Impacts: Expect periodic nighttime lane closures on the I-5 northbound truck lane at Southwest Barbur Boulevard from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., as well as the I-5 southbound left lane (the ramp to Southwest Barbur Boulevard will remain open). There will also be periodic traffic stops on the northbound on-ramp from Southwest Barbur Boulevard to I-5. Drivers should be aware of construction signage and lane changes since this project will include periodic nighttime lane closures on I-5 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday. Existing signs will be updated to meet federal standards; new signs will feature more reflective materials and a less cluttered design, making them easier to read. • Paving: Starting this spring/summer*, about seven miles of I-5 between Southwest Capitol Highway and the Marquam Bridge will be repaved. The pavement, last replaced in 2004, is deteriorating and needs to be repaired. Transitions to on- and off-ramps will also be repaved and improvements will be made to several bridges. * Construction is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2015, but work is weather dependent and dates are subject to change. Traffic Impacts: Expect nighttime single and double lane, shoulder and ramp closures for sign replacement, structure installation and paving. ODOT is partnering with law enforcement for extra presence in the highway construction zone. • NORTHBOUND CLOSURE of I-5 between the Marquam Bridge and I-84 on Friday night, August 7. I-5 travelers will be detoured via I-405. Eastbound I-84 travelers will take I-5 southbound to I-84 eastbound. Comments: Day and nighttime lane changes on OR 99W at SW Gaarde/McDonald St., traffic shifts to the shoulders Monday through Friday, with night lane closures. Project Description: The intersection improvement project on Oregon Highway 99 West, from the Southwest Gaarde Street/McDonald Street intersection to Bull Mountain Road in the City of Tigard, will include adding turn lanes on OR 99W, an additional southbound lane on OR 99W southbound and an additional lane on Southwest Gaarde Street and Southwest McDonald Street. Work should be complete by the end of 2015. Traffic Impacts: The construction crew is currently installing median, curbs and sidewalk, landscaping, water quality systems, electrical systems, and paving along OR 99W, Southwest Gaarde Street and Southwest McDonald Street. Travelers can expect nighttime and daytime work Monday through Friday. Travelers can expect: • Temporary striping on OR 99W has been installed approaching the intersection with Southwest Gaarde Street/McDonald Street and traffic is temporarily shifted towards the shoulders to accommodate median construction. Travel lanes will be slightly narrowed. • Nighttime lane closures on OR 99W (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.) for highway construction. • Daytime lane closures on Southwest Gaarde Street (7 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and shoulder work (4 to 5 p.m.). • Daytime lane closures on Southwest McDonald Street (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and shoulder work (7 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 5 p.m.). • Flaggers will be present for traffic safety, as needed between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
