US101B, 2 miles West of Astoria MP 5; Closure with Detour
The Lewis and Clark River Bridge will be closed starting December 1, 2014; a detour will be in place. Use an alternate route., The scheduled work includes reconstruction of the Lewis & Clark River Bridge. The Lewis & Clark River Bridge is now closed to facilitate construction activities. This full closure is anticipated to last until September 4, 2015. A detour route is currently designated with signing.The project is scheduled to be completed in November 2017.

Lanes Affected: (Southbound) , Shoulder (Northbound) , Shoulder
Comments: All lanes on I-5 are open. On the frontage roads, and Hwy 99, expect intermittent traffic control by flaggers. This is the Fern Valley Interchange Project. Watch for workers, construction vehicles and lane closures throughout the project area, especially on the west side of the Bear Creek Bridge along Fern Valley Road, Bolz Road and Oregon 99. Greenway users are being detoured onto Bolz Rd during the construction of the new Bear Creek Bridge.

OFF RAMP
Estimated delay under 20 minutes; Construction Work
Comments: Monday through Thursday nights, the SB loop ramp will have intermittent closures, 10 PM to 5 AM. Watch for detour signs in the interchange area. Ramps Affected. SB I-5 traffic from WB Ore 62 will be directed North to Central Point Exit 33 for the turn around. This project is for the construction of the new Bear Creek Greenway connections to Ore 62 west of the I-5 SB on and of ramps. The project is scheduled to be completed by September 30th.

This project repaves the highway, adds a center rumble strip, and provides new retro-reflective striping. Through Cave Junction, the existing four-lane section will be reconfigured to three lanes with a center turn lane.
