I-84 MP 31.8 to 44 | Estimated delay under 20 minutes; Construction Work Lanes Affected: (Eastbound) Median , All Lanes , Shoulder Comments: Expect lane and ramp closures on I-84 eastbound during night work hours. Lane closures will take place Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. A contractor is working on a project to pave a 14-mile section of I-84 between Multnomah Falls and Cascade Locks. The project includes paving ramps along I-84 and installing new guardrails and medians. Daytime and nighttime lane closures will take place on this project. Ramp closures will also be necessary for paving and to prevent motorists from entering work zones.
The contractor will continue grinding and paving I-84 between Multnomah Falls and Cascade Locks during the week of Monday, Aug. 30, through Thursday, Sept. 2. This work will require overnight eastbound right and potential westbound right lane closures each night Monday-Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The contractor will only work in one direction at a time starting in the eastbound lanes at the beginning of the week. Possible westbound lane closures could begin Wednesday.
The contractor will continue work on the I-84 westbound Eagle Creek viaduct. This work requires a 24-hour single lane closures on the viaduct from 9 p.m. Sunday to noon Friday.

Work is under way on a project to construct a bridge on Oregon Highway 35 crossing Polallie Creek, near Cooper Spur Road. The bridge will replace two culverts that currently carry Polallie Creek under Highway 35. In the past, this area has experienced debris flows in the winter damaging the roads and bridges. This project will raise the roadway and bridge four feet to better accommodate minor debris flows.
During the week of Monday, Aug. 30, through Thursday, Sept. 2, the contractor will continue drilling on Highway 35 near Cooper Spur Road. Traffic on Highway 35 will be restricted to one-way travel for ¼-mile and will be controlled by a temporary signal until approximately November 2010. Delays are expected to be minimal.
