US101 MP 116 to 116.7

No to Minimum Delay; Construction Work
Lanes Affected: (Northbound) 1 Lane (Southbound) 1 Lane
Comments: Emergency culvert repair project. Very little impact to US101 traffic. Work should takes approximately 2 weeks to repair the culvert. A routine inspection found a short section of a culvert that crosses under US101 has failed. Because the culvert is very deep it would be very expensive and difficult to replace using traditional excavation methods. A trenchless technology called pipe bursting will be used instead. This will allow a new pipe to be installed without digging up the road and impacting traffic.
