US101B, 2 miles West of Astoria MP 5; Closure with Detour
The Lewis and Clark River Bridge will be closed starting December 1, 2014; a detour will be in place. Use an alternate route., The Lewis & Clark River Bridge is scheduled to be closed to facilitate construction activities starting December 1, 2014. This closure is anticipated to last until August 1, 2015. A detour route will be designated with signing during the length of the closure. The project is scheduled to be completed in November 2017.

Comments: Sheep Creek Bridge repairs and construction starting in July. Intermittent single lane restrictions will occur with delays. Proceed with caution. This project will address earth movement, bridge, and highway damage from an active landslide on the east end of the Sheep Creek Bridge. The earth movement was measured at approximately one inch per year. For the past four years, however, the movement has increased to 6 to 7 inches per year. This project is designed to redirect and reduce the slide activity so that the impact to the bridge will be consistent and predictable, and therefore, more manageable.

This bridge preservation project will repair damaged concrete in the bridge's pillars, spans and supports. It will also construct a cathodic protection system to inhibit corrosion in the reinforced steel.
