US101B, 2 miles West of Astoria MP 5; Closure with Detour
The Lewis and Clark River Bridge will be closed starting December 1, 2014; a detour will be in place. Use an alternate route., The scheduled work includes reconstruction of the Lewis & Clark River Bridge. The Lewis & Clark River Bridge is now closed to facilitate construction activities. This full closure is anticipated to last until September 4, 2015. A detour route is currently designated with signing. The bridge is scheduled to be open to traffic on September 5, 2015.

Closure with Detour; Maintenance Work
Expected Start Date: 9/7/2015 5:00:00 PM
Comments: Starting Sept. 8th, there will be nighttime paving of I-5 ramps and lanes north of Albany. From 9 PM to 5:30 AM ramps will be closed with a detour. Ramps Affected. Nighttime paving of I-5 ramps and lanes north of Albany is scheduled to start during the evening of Tuesday, September 8. Starting at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8 northbound Exit 235 will be closed for paving work. The ramp should re-open by 5:30 a.m. During the closure, travelers will use Exit 238 to the north, cross under I-5, re-enter I-5 going southbound and exit at 235. During this same shift, the paving crew will also be closing alternating northbound I-5 lanes from milepost 240 to 241 for paving work. During the evenings from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, September 9-10, there will be alternating closures from milepost 242 to 238 for intermittent paving. This will be a nighttime project in an effort to reduce the impact on daytime commuting and business traffic. Variable message signs will be posted to help remind travelers of the closures and detours. The paving is weather dependent.

Comments: Sheep Creek Bridge repairs and construction starting. Intermittent single lane restrictions will occur with delays. Proceed with caution. This project will address earth movement, bridge, and highway damage from an active landslide on the east end of the Sheep Creek Bridge. The earth movement was measured at approximately one inch per year. For the past four years, however, the movement has increased to 6 to 7 inches per year. This project is designed to redirect and reduce the slide activity so that the impact to the bridge will be consistent and predictable, and therefore, more manageable.

Project Summary: This project will pave approximately 17 miles on the Oregon Coast Highway. Signs and guardrail will be replaced and/or adjusted. A new bridge membrane will be placed to protect Sutton Creek Bridge and surfacing stabilization work will be done on the bridge ends at both Sutton Creek and Big Creek. A new retaining wall will be constructed in the vicinity of the Heceta Head lighthouse, as well as two others just to the south of Sunnyview Lane. The majority of the work on the south 5.5 miles of the job should be completed by the end of October this year, with the remainder of the job to be completed by the end of August in 2016.
