Lanes Affected: (Westbound) 1 Lane , Shoulder (Eastbound) 1 Lane , Shoulder
Comments: Contractors will also be placing temporary barrier throughout the project prior to shifting traffic the week of March 2nd. Speeds reduced to 50mph. Traffic will be placed in single lanes throughout the project both in the eastbound and westbound directions. Traffic can expect minimal delays. Wildish Standard Paving Company will be replacing the concrete pavement located on Interstate 84 within the city limits of The Dalles. They will also be constructing a new bridge on I-84 over Threemile Creek. The work will take place in stages in order to minimize delays and ensure that both freeway lanes are open in each direction during peak traffic volumes this summer and over holiday weekends. Starting in early February traffic will be placed in a single lane in each direction to start stage construction. The first major stage will be completed by Memorial Day 2015. During the summer work will consist mostly of bridge construction. I84 is still reduced to a single lane in each direction at Biggs. Speeds on I84 through the work zone have been reduced to 50 MPH. KERR Contractors is building a modernization project of the Biggs Junction Interchange. The project will significantly widen US97 and all of the interchange ramps. The project includes new retaining walls, bridges, sidewalks, utilities, and signals. The work will take place in stages to minimize any traffic delays.
