A cold system dropping in from the north will bring snow to portions of southwest Oregon and northern California later today through Tuesday morning. Heavy snow with warning level accumulations are expected in the mountains above 2000 feet starting this afternoon and continuing tonight. This will affect all Cascade passes ... Including Siskiyou Summit ... And eventually the lower passes along interstate 5 north of grants pass will be affected. Snow levels will lower to around 1500 feet tonight which will bring snow accumulations to some Valley floors. Impacts are expected to be isolated in cities like Medford ... But the hills just above town may receive enough snow to cause travel difficulties. ... Winter Weather Advisory for snow in effect from 4 PM this afternoon to 10 AM PST Tuesday ... * Snow accumulations ... 4 to 8 inches.
